"Malaysia today has flourished due to micro-finance. More state governments should emulate the example of Delta State for the betterment of the poor".

- President Goodluck Jonathan While handling over the CBN Award on Micro-Credit to Dr. Uduaghan.

"Hunger causes anger and anger causes violence, Delta Micro-Credit Programme succeeded because it is headed by a woman.
When you want a difficult job done, give it to a woman".

-Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan
(Executive Governor of Delta State)

"Once the commodity value chain is unlocked, the financial value will also be unlocked. So what Delta State is doing is to make sure that the rural areas are energized and can have money and produce products that can be marketed and once the products are marketable, then money will come into the business so that they can achieve their life's dream".

-Jubril Martins Kuye
(Minister of Commerce), representative of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria during the 5th CBN Annual Conference in Abuja, January 2011.

"We just awarded Delta State as one of the states where micro-finance has been effectively utilized to tackle poverty. We saw a cluster group that started with nothing, and now they are exporting to Europe".

-Lamido Sanusi
CBN Governor on why Delta State won the Best Performing State on Micro-Credit Financing.

"We are budgeting more money than we did in the two previous years because the DCMP has become acceptable".

-Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan (In Abuja soon after receiving the CBN Award in January 2010)

"We are now taking DMCP some notches higher. We now want to grow from micro-businesses to small businesses so that from those small businesses we will start having real cottage industries".

--Dr. Antonia Ashiedu Commissioner for Special Duties (Micro-Credit)

"God used Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan to intervene at the right time when hunger and starvation was the order of the day".

-His Lordship, Most Rev.(Dr.) Hyacinth Egbedo, Catholic Bishop of Bomadi Diocese.

"We know that there is still a lot of poverty around, but the effort of the woman-in-charge (Dr. Antonia Ashiedu) in pursuing the policy to relieve the pains of the grassroots, gives us hope".

-Comrade Joseph Evah
(Leader, Ijaw Monitoring Group)

This is the first time that this kind of thing is happening in Delta State.
That loan is given to people without interest and with enough flexible conditions to repay. It has helped to promote our business. It is a
wonderful initiative.
