'We Have To Protect Our Ministers From The Wicked'
(Elisahib Ime-James, media manager of Believers Loveworld Incorporated also known as Christ Embassy, Lagos)

A LOT has been said about pastors who go about with bullet-proof cars, bullet-proof vests and a convoy of soldiers but why shouldn't these people be protected? They are servants of God; they are the custodians of eternal varieties and the articles of faith, which the devil had sought over the years to destroy.

"But the scriptures declare that "no weapon formed against us shall prosper." That does not preclude our corporate responsibility as members in respect of the security of ministers. We have a responsibility to ensure that our ministers are protected, not only from bodily harm, but also from emotional and spiritual harm.

"We have the responsibility to ensure that our ministers are shield away from wicked and unreasonable men. Instructively, most pastors won't insist they want security. If you ask me, many of the pastors will refuse the idea of personal security but responsible members will insist on security for their leader. In fact, they would argue that their leader must be protected so that the sheep will not scatter.

"It is important for these men to wear these bullet-proof vests and have retinue of security men around them because the devil is angry. He wants to cut short the ministry of some of these men of God before their ministry is fulfilled.

"Every minister is given a call and that call is for a time and a season. For the Bible declares that everything under the heavens "there is a time and there is a season." And if a man's call has not been fulfilled, if he is cut down by assassins bullet, that call will be terminated before its time. This is the reason notable pastors, especially with mega churches should wear the security vest.

"However, I cannot confirm nor deny that my pastor (Chris Oyakhilome) goes about with bullet-proof car, or wears bullet-proof vest.

"If he wears that, of course, it will show from his dressing. So, I don't know about that but what I know is that my pastor does have security around him and you dare not come close if you are coming for any evil mission. You can't come closer because those security men are spirit-filled. They see where mere mortals do not see. So, it will be a tall order for anyone with evil motive to come closer.

One of the things that amazes me is that people pick a particular chapter or verse from the Bible and they run with it. But scriptures must match scriptures. Why did the scriptures say that we should pray so God will deliver us from wicked and unreasonable men?

The scriptures declare that without him nothing was made that was made
