IJAW LEADER BEGS KEYAMO TO FORGIVE BROTHER

2007-09-08

The co-ordinator of Ijaw monitoring group (IMG) Comrade Joseph Evah has appealed to Lagos-based lawyer, Mr. Festus Keyamo to forgive his younger brother Lucky Keyamo for joining force against him (Festus) during the ‘Frayo’ saga after the assassination of the former Attorney General of the Federation Chief Bola Ige.

In a statement signed on his behalf by Comrade Andrew Elijah, the leader recalled that “it was God Almighty that saved Festus Keyamo during that period”.

According to Evah, “I thank God for preventing the story of the biblical Cain and Able in the family of the Keyamos during that period” adding that “if today he decided to repent, my bosom friend Festus should give the glory to Almighty God and forgive his brother now that Lucky has publicly repented.”

Evah recalled that Lucky had addressed a press conference to link him (Evah), Festus Keyamo and Mr. Nwakwobia with plans to burn down the NNPC Ikoyi Lagos complex which was gutted by fire at that time.

“This is to tell you the extent he hated his elder brother and he extended that hatred to his brother’s friend like us. While the SSS detained Festus and Nwakwobia over the NNPC fire, I was the only person not picket up by the security agents over the allegation”.

Evah also appealed with “the father of Festus and the rest of the family to receive him (Lucky) back as the biblical prodigal son and forgive him.
