The coordinator of Ijaw Monitoring group (IMG), Comrade Joseph Evah has condemned the nomination of Dr. Rilwan Lukman as a minister by President Umaru Yar’Adua.

In a statement, the Niger Delta activist described the clearance of Lukman for screening at the Senate by state security agencies as “part of Nigeria’s problems and the shame as a nation”.

He alleged that Nigerians suffered unemployment and other economic hardships because of the waste of Nigeria’s oil waste during Rilwanu’s tenure as oil minister.

Evah said. “The new ministerial list shows that this government needs spiritual deliverance.”

The Niger Delta activist warned that the second coming of Rilwanu may “worsen the fragile economy and ensure that Nigeria will never recover from its economic crisis”.

He lamented, “How long shall our daughters be roaming around the world making Nigeria a producer of prostitutes? How long shall our universities become haven of prostitution and cultism as a result of hopelessness?”

He said the nation’s knack for re-cycling public officers over the years has not helped the nation.
